Items of contention brought up during the last regular meeting of Town of Taos Mayor and Council have prompted a special meeting today (August 8), 11 a.m. at Town Council Chambers, 120 Civic Plaza Drive.

Up for discussion and approval are several items – among them are the cancellation money given by the town for the Annual Mothers’ Day Event and reduction of advertising dollars spent by the town on both KTAO and DMC Broadcasting.

Also up for discussion is the town’s procurement policy on Town of Taos contracts and reducing the amount of money the Mayor has signature authority on, the Kit Carson Regional Command Center Lease, and a comprehensive analysis on the pay and retention of Town police officers.
