A swearing-in ceremony for the town's new chief of police is planned for later this morning... it'll take place at 11 a-m at the town council chambers. Kenneth Koch will be sworn in later today as the head of the taos police department. The town recently hired Koch... who is an arizona native who worked for the flagstaff police department for more than two decades and eventually served as deputy chief of that department. The town had interviewed seven candidates out of more than 30 candidates... this was the second search, after the initial choice had turned down the job for family reasons. The town had been looking for a new police chief since rick anglada stepped down in January. The interim chief had been jerry hogrefe.
