New Mexico lawmakers have passed a 5-point-9-billion-dolalrs state budget... the budget now goes to the governor, who has threatened to veto it. The house approved a budget and agreed to a senate-passed version of the measure. The legislature ends its work on saturday... if the governor vetoes the budget and there's no budget deal... a special legislative session would be needed later this year.

 The new mexico legislature has signed off on a plan to finance 274-million-dollars in capital improvements across the state. The measure now goes to the governor.... it unanimously passed the house on wednesday. The projects range from state-owned building upgrades and school equipment to improving local athletic fields... included in the bill is nearly 11-million-dollars for state prison repairs, improvements, and security upgrades..... 6 million dollars for voting equipment.... and 3-million-dollars for an access road to the state's spaceport
