A state legislative committee has given the OK to a bill that would crack down on internet prostitution. The house consumer and public affairs committee has given a do-pass recommendation to the bill. Sponsor Representative Tim Lewis said the current law is antiquated, and needs to be fixed. The bill now moves on to the house judiciary committee.

 

Lawmakers are working on a driver's license compromise bill... it's an attempt to clean up the gridlock over licenses for illegal immigrants. Lawmakers today get their first look at the bill after it was introduced without a reading last night.

 

New mexico's senators are taking applications from those who want to be the state's next top federal prosecutor. The u-s attorney post will become vacant once current u-s attorney ken gonzalez, who has been named to a federal judgeship in santa fe, is confirmed by the senate. New mexico's senators will recommend to president obama - a short list of candidates for the position. Those who are interested should complete and return an application to the senators' offices no later than march 4th.
