The Taos County Commissioners have decided to dissolve the housing board that has been supervising the taos county housing authority. The vote on the commission was 4 to 1. With the vote on tuesday, the housing authority will officially be brought in as a county department, with the supervision that comes with it. A new executive director will be brought in, and given the chance to bring stability to the housing authority. Reviews and audits of the agency showed that baord members were not aware of their responsibility, and the board was ineffective. Meanwhile, Martinez is awaiting trial in federal court over 49 counts. The board that is being dissolved has five members.
