The state legislative session could be costing taxpayers $5 million. The senate and house has sent the bill to the governor. Under the legislative budget, nearly $2 million is provided for Senate costs during the session. About $2.3 million is for the House and $715,000 goes other operations, including printing and distribution of bills. Lawmakers do not receive a salary, but are paid a $154-a-day expense reimbursement during the session.The measure currently at the governor's desk covers expenses for the session and allocates more than $14 million for year-round legislative operations.
