A new report shows that more children in the state are now in poverty due to the recession. The report from New Mexico Voices for Children says more than half of kids live in poverty or in low-income families that have trouble making ends meet. The percent of children living in single-parent families has increased from 33% in 2000 to 42% in 2010. And only three other states have higher percentages of children in single-parent homes.
