Uranium mining companies are apparently looking at the navajo nation... the navajo nation sits on more than 70 million tons of naturally occuring uranium, a radioactive ore. Several companies apparently have addressed the tribe, asking for permission to mine the uranium-ruch land. But several environmental studies have suggested that elevated levels of uranium in and around the mines caused health problems for people who live or work in the area.
