New Mexico is one of 8 states that have signed on to encourage U.S. automakers to develop affordable cars that run on natural gas. The 8 governors intend to seek proposals to replace cars in their state fleets with ones that run on natural gas. The goal is to drive demand for vehicles that run on alternative fuel - and for fueling stations that serve those vehicles.
