Roadside vendors and officials with the Bureau of Land Management are still working toward a potential agreement that would allow vending at the rest area near the Río Grande Gorge Bridge. BLM has been in negotiations with the state Department of Transportation for almost a year now that would relinquish part of the rest area land to BLM, which would in turn issue a vending permit to the association for a designated area between the rest area exit road and the mandated 100 feet from U.S. Highway 64.
