A Taos animal control officer accused of falsifying his time sheets has been suspended. A criminal complaint shows Paul Martinez has been charged with six counts of receiving money for services not rendered. The Interim police chief Jerry Hogrefe started reviewing time sheets when he was named interim chief... and started investigating Martinez. Martinez was sometimes found to be going home in the middle of the day, and not writing that down on his time sheets... he is accused of sometimes reporting breaks to dispatch, but not always writing them on his time sheet. A preliminary hearing is set for May 2nd in magistrate court. We don't know exctly how much money was lost due to stolen time.
