THe new mexico game commission is going to look at possible changes to antelope hunting. There have been complaints from some sportsmen that the current rules don't offer enough hunting opportunities for those getting licenses from the public draw. The commission sets policies for New Mexico's Game and Fish Department... the department says it'll recommend that the current licensing system remain in place. The commission meets today... it's held public hearings to get opinions on ideas to set up a licensing system for antelope hunting, like there is for deer hunting. Among the proposals -is an idea to continue the license drawing for public land hunts- but lets licenses be sold over-the-counter to hunt on private lands, with the OK from the landowner.
