The Kit Carson Electric Cooperative has announced that funding has been restored for the 64-million-dollar Enchanted Light Fiber Optic High Speed Internet Project. KCEC CEO Luis Reyes said the move to reinstate the funding means about 200 local residents will be able to resume work.. it's estimated that when the project is fully under construction, about 300 local residents will be employed installing the infrastructure... the deadline for the project's completion is february of 2015. The rural utility services had temporarily halted funding because of a petition to the new mexico public regulation commission... the commission ruled in favor of KCEC last week... and KCEC immediately requested that the rural utility service restore the funding.
