A new study shows new mexico teachers rank high among the states when it comes to teacher absenteeism... the study released by the u-s department of education looked at teachers who missed more than 10 days of work in a single school year... new mexico ranked 5th, behind only oregon, arkansas, hawaii, and rhode island. The study found it's likely those top five states might be spending more to hire substitutes more often... the study found that teacher who work in charter schools and high-minority schools call in sick to work more often.
